Lexus LX 570 – SAP System Software Disable

Recently, we worked on a Lexus LX 570 with a Denso 76F00xx ECU. The vehicle had recurring problems with the Secondary Air Pump (SAP) system, and the customer decided to disable the system through software due to the high repair cost and the long 1–2 month waiting time for replacement parts.

The vehicle had SAP-related fault codes including:

P0412, P0415, P0418, P0419, P2433 and P2438.

An important point with this ECU is that simply deleting the fault codes is not enough.

When a SAP fault is active, the ECU can apply a throttle limitation, with maximum throttle opening reduced to approximately 7%. Therefore, the SAP fault strategy and the associated throttle limitation also need to be properly disabled.

This ensures the vehicle can operate normally without the SAP system triggering the severe throttle restriction.
